  • In short

The top-mounted stick system lets you create a daylight and ventilation solution on your chosen sub-structure.

The thermally broken top-mounted stick system consists of a standard aluminium profile, which is fastened to a customer designed sub-structure by means of screws, welding or bolt kit connection. This substructure carries the structural load of the solution and is decisive for the dimensioning of the daylight solution.

The vertical and horizontal aluminium profiles are fitted with EPDM gaskets. On the outside, the profiles have aluminium covers and pressure profiles fitted with EPDM gaskets that keep the insulating glass units in place. The mullion and transom width is 60 mm.

The system offers excellent sealing values even with low roof slopes and a controlled and realiable drainage over two levels.

Guaranteeing both products and installation, we manufacture, deliver and install the glass roof solution.

  • Functions and sizes
The top-mounted stick-glazing system provides almost unlimited design freedom when it comes to sizes, since the sub structure designed by the customer will be dimensioned to carry the structural load of the solution. The complete solution is statically calculated by our engineering specialists and verified by the customer depending on the use and building situation.

VENTRIA flaps are available for comfort and smoke ventilation, including dual function of both comfort and smoke ventilation.
VENTRIA TG flap and VENTRIA 3 flap, constructed from high-quality aluminium profiles, can be used as both top-hung and bottom-hung solutions for daily comfort ventilation and as a bottom-hung solution for certified smoke and heat exhaust ventilation CE-marked according to EN 12101-2.
Flaps can be installed as a single or as a double flap using either electrical (24 V or 230 V) or pneumatical operation. However, flaps for smoke ventilation can only be electrically operated.

    warning triangel
Stick System ventilation flaps have a recommended minimum installation height of 2.5 m above floor level (inside) and ground level (outside). In case of installation of the ventilation flaps below that level, safety measures must be applied by the user to prevent serious injury.

By ordering a stick system solution containing ventilation flaps to be placed within reach i.e. below 2.5 m above floor/ground level, delivered and installed by the VELUX Group, the user acknowledges to have been made specifically aware of the regulatory requirements concerning entrapment protection and inherent hazards, and the user takes full liability on application of adequate safety measures. No instruction or measure can eliminate the inherent hazards resulting from installation heights below 2.5 m. Measures could for instance be to install a motion sensor that is able to disconnect power from the control unit in case of any movement in the immediate vicinity of the Stick System ventilation flaps.
  • Product details
The mullions and transoms are designed to be installed on a customer designed sub-structure. The mullions and transoms are fitted with EPDM gaskets. Externally, the profiles have aluminium covers and pressure profiles fitted with EPDM gaskets that retain the insulating glass units in place.
The mullion and transom width is 60 mm. Continuous insulation strips made of XPS foam placed between the glazing units combined with the EPDM gaskets provide an advanced thermally broken system.
Sealed variant is an alternative design option, available, which is ideal for low installation pitches. This variant is sealed to ensure water tightness and mechanically fixed with stainless steel suction plates every 300 mm instead of cover profiles.
