Comfort and smoke ventilation for Dome Rooflights

Combine Dome Rooflights with a selection of ventilation systems

Natural ventilation helps improve indoor climate by ensuring the required oxygen demand for better concentration and productivity. A wide range of actuators help open Dome rooflights while taking different requirements into account, such as lifting height, size, weight and load.

Comfort ventilation

For Dome Rooflights, comfort ventilation can be operated by either 24 or 230 V depending on the project requirements.
A 230 V system is only used for comfort ventilation, whereas a 24 V system can be used for automated smoke extract as well.
Furthermore, these are compatible with a smoke and heat exhaust ventilation control centre, which can be supplied with power for 72 hours from a battery backup.
For both systems, a variaty of actuator options with different stroke lenghts exists and must be specified based on the design and performance requirements of the project.
A spindle actuator is also suitable as roof access.
  • Chain actuator
  • Spindle actuator
  • Rack actuator

Small and less heavy Dome Rooflights can also be operated by a hand spindle actuator using a simple mechanical opening system. This solution is ideal for retrofitting.

Smoke ventilation

The main task of smoke and heat ventilation systems (SHEV) is to remove smoke, heat and toxic gases from the building as quickly as possible in the event of a fire and create a low-smoke layer in the lower room area. Our smoke ventilation systems is operated with either pneumatic or electrical devices. All our smoke ventilation systems meet the requirements for natural smoke and heat ventilation devices according to EN 12101-2.

Pneumatic devices guarantee safe opening of daylight elements if a fire breaks out and offer a high degree of functional safety as they operate independently from the power supply.

This makes the system very reliable if a total power failure occurs. There are two types of pneumatic devices:
  • OPEN only for smoke ventilation
  • OPEN-CLOSE for both comfort and smoke ventilation

Electrical devices guarantee safe opening of the daylight elements in the event of a fire as they operate together with a special power supply with 72 hour battery backup in case of a total power failure. The electrical system is safe, efficient and powerfull and can be used for both comfort and smoke ventilation as has an OPEN-CLOSE function.

Accessories for comfort ventilation

Natural ventilation improves the indoor climate by ensuring the required oxygen demand for better concentration and productivity.
Control accessories help automate comfort ventilation by using sensors that detect wind and/or rain as well as control units that process the signals to operate the ventilation devices.
This function independently protects against unfavorable weather conditions and/or improves the indoor climate.
For standard use, a rain and wind sensor set can automatically ensure to open and close the Dome Rooflight before major damage occurs. When using a smart control unit together with the sensor set, it is possible to increase the comfort thanks to adjustable parameters such as time and temperature.
